When The Country Went To War, These Starlets Did Their Part To Support The Effort!

There were so many ways that every government involved in World War II asked every citizen to help with the war effort. While you wouldn’t expect the stars in Hollywood to be planting gardens, they did help the war effort through fund-raising and promotion. Check out these starlets doing their part to help!

Here we can see Susan Wayward, Maria Montez, and Gloria Jean committing typewriters for government use. These promo shots were used to acquire the desperately-needed “600,000 typewriters for the armed services” with the government “contacting all possible typewriter users to urge them to release ‘1 out of 4’ typewriters for Army and Navy service.”
