In 1936, Carl G. Mayer, the nephew of Oscar Mayer, created the first version of the Wienermobile. For anyone who doesn’t know, the Wienermobile is an automobile shaped like a hot dog on a bun — basically a giant Oscar Mayer wiener.

Today, the Wienermobile is still in existence — there are a number of hot dog automobiles driving around the country right now. The drivers are known as “hotdoggers,” and the toy whistles they hand out are known as “wienerwhistles.” The Wienermobile is so iconic that Hot Wheels even made and sold miniature replicas!

If you’re a big fan of Oscar Mayer and the brand’s hot-dog-on-wheels, you’ll be excited to find out that you can actually rent a real Oscar Mayer Wienermobile on Airbnb!

That’s right, starting at just $136 per night, you can stay in a Wienermobile tiny home. Want to make a reservation? Rental opportunities will roll out throughout the day on July 24, so make sure to be at your computer to make a reservation.

For the first time ever, your wildest hot dog dreams can come true with a stay in our 27 foot-long hot dog on wheels.”

“Housed inside an authentic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, this cozy space for two is located in Chicagoland. Complete with a bed for dreaming of wienies, sitting area for discussing at length whether a hot dog is a sandwich (spoiler alert – it is!) and other amenities like adjacent outdoor spaces for the bathroom and a hot dog picnic zone, this hot dog paradise is the ideal respite for two music lovers in town for the festival weekend… or just those who relish a good story.”

“Amenities include a mini fridge stocked with Oscar Mayer hot dogs and all the Chicago-style hot dog essentials, an Oscar Mayer roller grill to take home, an outdoor space for comfortable hot dog eating and a custom Wienermobile art piece by local artist Laura Kiro. And to help you celebrate your love of hot dogs during your visit, each guest also will receive a welcome kit, complete with all the hot dog-inspired accessories you could want after a music-filled, festival day.”

In the front end of the Wienermobile, where the steering wheel is located, there’s a comfortable two-person couch, complete with a pillow that says, “I’m just here for the hot dogs.” The couch is surrounded by windows, which makes it a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the day.

The couch folds out into a cozy bed, perfect for two people to sleep in. While lying in bed, you can stare out at the starry skies and revel in the fact that you’re sleeping in the OSCAR MAYER WIENERMOBILE.

The hosts, AlexanDog and Jake N’ Bacon, explained why they’ve decided to rent out their Wienermobile:

“We’ve been driving a 27-foot-long hot dog around the country for the past couple of months. While traveling the hot dog highways we’ve seen some franktastic places and met some bunderful people. So, we’ve decided to share the love by renovating America’s favorite hot dog on wheels and turning it into a Wienermobile you can stay in overnight for the first time ever. We can’t wait to meat you!”

Located in the Fulton Market district of Chicago, the Wienermobile rental is in the heart of Chicago’s bustling arts community. In addition to tons of art galleries, this area offers great bars and restaurants. This trendy neighborhood is just a few minutes away from downtown Chicago. It’s a 10-minute drive to Millennium Park, a 15-minute drive to Navy Pier, and a 12-minute drive to the Magnificent Mile.

Just outside the Wienermobile, visitors have access to a bathroom and their very own hot dog picnic zone, complete with Adirondack chairs, hanging lights, and a fire pit (for roasting hot dogs, of course).
