Cedric Biscay, who is the founder of Magic Monaco and a key player in the production of Shenmue III, has posted to social media, revealing that Terry Diebold intends to sell the only known Nintendo PlayStation prototype in existence.
He happened upon the mythological machine when Advanta Corporation – his former employer – auctioned off assets following bankruptcy in 2009. Since the CD drive has been repaired, and the unit has been around the United States.
Terry Diebold that we have invited several years ago at @MagicMonaco just informed me that he wants to sell his Nintendo PlayStation official prototype. I am very curious to know about the final price for this !

For those who might not know, the Nintendo PlayStation is a representation of monumental moments in gaming history. Sony famously partnered with the House of Mario in order to create a CD drive for the Super Nintendo – however, it was notoriously backstabbed by its Japanese counterpart and went on to produce the PlayStation on its own.
It’s going to be fascinating to see what kind of figure this device fetches at auction. The hardware is a one-of-a-kind piece and something that deserves museum recognition at this point.
