Woman Finds A ‘Murder Lamp’ With Hidden Blood Stains At A Thrift Store
The lamp looked totally normal at first, but it wasn’t long before Paige realized she was dealing with a potential crime scene.
You never quite know what you’re going to find when you are at a thrift store. As they say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, but what this woman found is perhaps somewhere in between.
When she first found the brass lamp, she decided to post a clip of it online on TikTok.
She was absolutely thrilled with this thrift store discovery, but then she discovered something unusual in the form of a stain.
The original lampshade was covered by a removable shade and when she looked at the original shade, she saw a stain that appeared to be blood. The video, which has been watched over 6 million times, was captioned: “Well, wasnt expecting that.”
The video was so popular because it was part of the #CrimeTok community. More than 8.4 billion people have viewed something on the channel so far.
Since the original video was posted, Nicole decided to follow up after a law-enforcement family member told her to put hydrogen peroxide on the stain. According to what she heard, if it was blood, it would bubble.
Unfortunately for Nicole, the stain did bubble and that likely pointed to the fact that it was blood and not something else.
She said: “I just wanted to throw it out there that I am not a forensic pathologist. Iām going to be using hydrogen peroxide and a UV light.”
Now that she had more information, she went to the local police department to tell them what she found. Not much info was available from the thrift shop because people donate to it anonymously and they don’t have cameras set up.
While it’s possible that the blood could’ve been from a crime or a cold case, more than likely, the investigation is not going to go anywhere. The thrift shop held the lamp for almost a month before it was sold and many people had touched it in the meantime.
She said that she did follow up and give the information to the local police. They also think it could be blood, but they didn’t have a way to tace the lamp or identity the blood so they decided not to follow up on it.

In the end, Nicole is offering the advice that people should check what they find at the vintage shop before they purchase.
After all, you have no idea where everything is coming from.
