Keeping your house clean and organized can feel like a full-time job. Who has time for that? However, you do need to keep certain things clean if you want your home to be sanitary and stay fresh. Here is a guide on how often you should clean certain items in your home.

1. Clean these items every day

To keep your home clean and organized, in general, put things away after you are done with them. Every day you should also wash your dishes or load and unload the dishwasher, wipe your kitchen and bathroom counters, and empty trash if needed.

You should also make your bed and straighten up your room in the morning before you start your day. This can also help you feel productive.

After you shower, squeegee the walls to prevent mildew.

2. Clean these items twice a week

If you have pets or kids, try to vacuum as needed which can be more often than once or twice a week. However, you should mop the floors about twice a week.

3. Clean these items every month

Every month you should also vacuum or clean the furniture and clean ceiling fans. You should also dust each room and wash throw rugs.

Also, sweep and organize your garage, patio and other outside areas.

4. Clean these items every three months
