Package Shipped In 1971 Finally Gets Delivered 50 Years Later

Stephanie was confused when she opened the packages and didn’t recognize what she found, but then she noticed the postmark was for March 1971.

Something unusual showed up outside of the Russo family’s home recently. It was a package, which wasn’t all that uncommon, but this one was something nobody would’ve expected.

In an interview with WPTV News, Stephanie Russo said they found two parcels outside of their door. They didn’t really pay much attention to them at first because they receive a lot of packages, especially in recent months.

It was after they opened the packages, however, that they discovered something unusual. There were two very colorful posters on the inside but the Russo’s knew that they hadn’t ordered posters, nor had they wanted them.

Stephanie said that they took a closer look and they noticed that the postmark was March 1971. That is when they realized that the posters were being delivered 50 years late.

Rather than simply allowing this to be an unusual story that is told occasionally, they decided to track down the actual recipient. They found the previous owner of the home and learned that they lived near Atlanta.

The previous owner was John Feigert, and in 1971, he was only 13 years old. He knew that his father had often ordered marketing materials from companies, so he figured this was just one of those orders that got lost somewhere along the way.

He said: “I think recently, obviously, somebody found it and I think they knew. They saw the date and I think they thought, ‘I got to send this on.”

There were two posters delivered, and Russo decided to keep one and give the other two Feigert. Watch the interview below:
