10 Unforgettable Moments In Team USA Figure Skating History

How many of these Olympic moments do you remember?

5. 1984 Sarajevo Olympics. Scott Hamilton ends a 20+ year drought in Olympic gold for Team USA. His electric performance and showmanship became long-standing hallmarks of any performance he would give, even after his retirement from competition. He has gone on to be one of the sport’s greatest representatives and continues to serve as an ambassador for the sport as a commentator for major competitions.

6. 1988 Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In what was one of the fiercest battles in men’s figure skating, the matchup between two athletes, one from Team USA and one from Canada would become one of the most memorable duels in the sport. The Battle of the Brians (Brian Boitano and Brian Orser of Canada), came down to an incredible tiebreaker scoring decision, with Boitano landing the first triple axel in competition for Team USA and fending off Orser by a mere fraction of points to win the gold.
