3) A Lock of Mozart’s Hair

Via/ Library of Congress

It is possibly one of the most literal and hygienic ways to “hold onto” someone: a lock of hair. With documented provenance linking it to the original source, this gold-framed lock of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s hair came up for auction in 2015 at Sotheby’s and sold for just over $50,000! It’s worth noting that a lock of Beethoven’s hair at the same auction event sold for the measly sum ofjust under $12,000!
