Some pretty unusual items come up for auction and we’re often amazed to find out what they sold for. Here are a few the craziest auction items we’ve seen lately.
2) A Piece of Cake from the Wedding of Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh
Even older than her son’s wedding cake, this seriously elderly piece of wedding cake was sold 68 years after the Queen’s wedding in 1947! As with other famous wedding cakes, the high alcohol content means that the slice is relatively well-preserved. This piece, slightly damaged but in it’s original wrapping, sold for just over $700, though they note that it could have gone for much higher had the piece been in perfect condition.
