5) Troy Donahue

Troy Donhaue’s first big role came in A Summer Place in 1959 opposite Sandra Dee. This teen-centric film is full of romance and emotionally charged scenes that teenagers do so love. The now-classic theme song has been used (or as the inspiration at least) for countless skits in TV and film as the quintessential “calm muzak” song. Donahue went on to be part of the TV shows Surfside 6 and Hawaiian Eye, giving rise to the stereotype of the blonde surfer boy on the beach image.
