Haunted Dolls

A quick search on eBay for haunted dolls will reveal baby dolls of all eras for sale, each with a ghost story attached to them. Psychologists suggest that it’s easy for us to be creeped out by dolls since they are not usually overtly scary, yet contain human features that we struggle to read in the way we read people’s faces. Add to the creep factor that many baby dolls don’t hold up well over time- sleepy eyes break or cloud, vinyl discolors, china crazes- and you have a recipe for scary dolls.

For those who collect them haunted dolls are one-of-a-kind because of their misshapen faces and haunted backstories. While you can find plenty of creepy dolls in antique stores, most of the haunted ones are to be found online.
