Our 10 Favorite TV Theme Songs That We Bet You Still Know By Heart!

We got to thinking about some of our favorite shows from the past and decided to come up with a list of the top ten theme songs we constantly find ourselves singing.

2. The Jeffersons

When a theme song makes you want to get up and dance, you know it’s doing something right! That’s exactly how I feel every time I hear “Movin’ On Up,” by Ja’net Dubois. The choir in the background and the upbeat drums just get your feet tappin’ and your head bobbin’! Fun fact: this song was actually covered by Sammy Davis Jr. in 1978!

1. Cheers

Doesn’t everyone want a place where they can go to be happy, a place where everyone knows your name? Every time I heard this song, it brings a smile to my face. A studio-recorded version of “Where Everybody Knows Your Name,” by Gary Portnoy, actually made its way onto both the UK and U.S. music charts. That’s saying something! In our eyes, this song set the standard for television themes, which is why it has earned the top spot on our list.
