As major fans of all things music, we are constantly dealing with the more bittersweet aspects of our fandom. Artists that we love pass away, or they decide to move on to different pursuits, or their music just simply does not hit the same. These are the realities that we all have to face as music lovers and that’s what makes this story such a special one.

The good folks over at Historicly are here to change the game. Many of us have spent a great deal wondering what would have become of our favorite musicians who passed away at a young age. They took a closer look at eight musicians whose time on this planet was tragically cut short. Thanks to the magic of artificial intelligence, we are now able to see what might have been. “Who would they look like today? Could they be in the charts? Who knows. Would they still be playing their own instruments and signing?” the description reads and we have had similar questions ourselves.

In case you are wondering, this clip includes John Denver who passed away at age 53, Hank Williams who passed away at age 29, Janis Joplin who passed away at age 27, Del Shannon who passed away at age 55, John Coltrane who passed away at age 40, Peter Ham of Badfinger who passed away at age 27, and John Lennon who passed away at age 40.

These are some of the all-time greats and there is not a day that goes by that we do not mourn them. This video gives us a chance to see what could have been. It’s something that we think about a lot and we hope that they are willing to keep showing us more clips like this one. It would be so cool to see a wide range of fallen musicians having the chance to grow old.
