For many people the one of the best things about going to fairs, carnivals, and festivals is the rich food. These outrageous treats are not for the calorie conscious, but they are flavor combinations and textures you simply won’t find very many other places. While some fair food items have become menu items at restaurants, for the most part the fair is the one chance you’ll have to indulge in these unique and yummy foods. Here are 10 of the most decadent carnival treats in the U.S.

10) Deep Fried Snickers

A frozen Snickers candy bar is battered and then deep fried for maximum flavor. The melty chocolate and crunchy exterior make for a very satisfying carnival treat.

9) Fried Waffle Ice Cream Sandwiches

If you can’t decide between a waffle cone and an ice cream sandwich then this treat has got you covered on both accounts. A sprinkle of powdered sugar on top adds even more sweetness.

8) Loaded Oysters

Fairs in coastal cities often have oysters on the menu and it wouldn’t be fair food if there wasn’t something about it which was completely over the top. Loaded oysters bear some resemblance to loaded baked potatoes, but they cram a lot of flavor into one bite!

7) Birthday Cake Crepes

Crepes can be made any number of ways, but filled with strawberries and frosting and then covered in sprinkles sounds like a particularly good way to serve them.

6) Fried Punch

Like tangy doughnuts flavored with powered Hawaiian punch or Kool Aid these crispy dough balls are a popular treat at fairs and festivals.

4) Brick of Chili Cheese Fries

If a few fries are good then surely an entire brick of fries covered in chili and cheese sauce is even better, right?

3) Deep Fried Cookie Dough

The trend for cookie dough ice cream and assorted other treats has been going strong for quite some time. But, roll it up into balls and deep fry it? Now you’ve got something unique. And, the balls don’t just turn into cookies when they’re fried. The chocolate melts and the dough becomes gooey, unlike any cookie we’ve ever had.

There’s no denying that caramel and apples go perfectly together. But, crispy apple fries drizzled with caramel and covered in whipped cream has got to be one of the most creative and delicious ways to serve these two things together.

1) Deep Fried Peanut Butter and Jelly

Inside this dough ball lies molten hot peanut butter and jelly and the whole thing (of course) gets sprinkled with powdered sugar. If you love this very familiar flavor combination then a new take on a childhood favorite might be in order.
