Hunter Finds Sword In Stone In The ‘Middle Of No Where’

The man was deep into the Sierra Nevada Mountains when he discovered the peculiar find.

While out in the Sierra Nevada wilderness in Northern California, a man who’d been hunting for animals ended up finding a sword in a stone.

The man shared the discovery on Reddit, explaining that he found it a few years ago in the “middle of nowhere.” Check it out below:

Of course, most people would immediately think of King Arthur and the sword in the stone.

In folklore, King Arthur was the only one able to pull a sword from a stone, and he did it as a young boy. On the blade of the sword read, “Whoever pulls out this sword from this stone is the true king of England!”

Of course, in the comments of the post the hunter said he did try to pull the sword out but it “didn’t budge.” I guess he’s not meant to be king!

He didn’t explain the exact location of the sword, so it’s hard to say if anyone will find it again in the near future. If you’re ever exploring the vast Sierra Nevada mountain range, it’s worth keeping your eyes out for!

After all, the man is a seasoned hiker and hunter and he said it was “one of the coolest things I have ever come across up there.”

While we’ll never know the true origin story of the sword, it’s fun to think about King Arthur and what might happen if one could pull the sword from the stone. Perhaps we’d have the next King of Northern California.
