We loved watching American Bandstand for the wonderful music and the fun dance moves that you just couldn’t help but copy at home! There’s just something special about that time in music and fashion. Plus Dick Clark always made us smile!

From the plaid skirts to the saddle shoes, we love seeing these teenagers dancing on American Bandstand in the clip below from 1957. It’s just about the sweetest thing we’ve seen in a long time. They’re dancing to what to what Dick Clark proclaims a fast song – Fats Domino’s “The Big Beat.” This classic song had the perfect tempo for the swing-like rock & roll dancing so popular in the ’50s.

Have a look at this classic clip below. You’ll no doubt notice all the behind-the-back hand changes. It’s so much fun to watch!
