2) Playing in the Sand

Hands down one of the best parts of being on any beach as a kid is playing in the sand. A bucket or even just a stick and we were happy for hours. Making designs from the seaweed and castles that seemed quite grand, this was a great way for us to entertain ourselves.

1) Swimming!

The thing everyone usually loved the best was swimming. Even if the water was a bit cold, even if you couldn’t stay in all day, at least for us kids, it was the highlight of the day. Flips and walking on our hands underwater were some of the best times we had at any beach or pool.

So many things have changed, but the fun of being at the beach is one that hasn’t. Kids these days love it as much as we did all those years ago! They may have different lotions or floaties, but the basics are all still there. And, they may even still get ice cream on occasion.
