When we think of good classic ’60s love songs, this tune from Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell instantly comes to mind. One of the biggest hits of 1967, the melody brings back wonderful memories for many of us, as well some bittersweet ones.
Two of Motown’s most talented performers were both taken far too young, with Terrell succumbing to brain cancer in 1970 and Gaye being murdered by his father in 1984. “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” remains as a testament to their undeniable talent. Despite the tragedies that befell them, the song continues to be an uplifting melody for many.
