8 TV Homes We Wanted to Live In as Kids!

Growing up, our favorite TV shows had a huge impact on us. Here are some of the TV homes we most wanted to visit when we were kids.

Ok, it may have been run down, it may have been covered in cobwebs, and it may have let the wind howling in. But, The Munsters set was one of the most interesting homes on TV at the time. We always wondered just exactly how many trap doors there were! And, you better believe that place, had it been real, would have been crawling with antiques. One thing does make us wonder: how come Lily has to cook like it’s the 18th century while Grandpa’s lab is fully electric?

The Modern Brady Bunch House

The Brady house from The Brady Bunch has been one of the most hotly debated sets in history. For those who love the utterly 70s feel in every detail it is an ideal home. For others not wowed by the style the poor architectural design and lack of planning are a constant annoyance. However you look at it, this home is one of the most well-known in TV history. We spent hours watching this show and thinking about what it would be like to live there. Even if it was a bit cramped, the style is rather upscale, with Danish Modern dining room furniture and expensive lamps, bright custom kitchen cabinets, and that swanky rec room downstairs. Have a look in this classic clip.

We loved watching these shows as kids. The homey atmosphere and scenes of family life on these lovely sets was perhaps a lot nicer than some of us could afford. But, we loved that they each had a personality that suited the era and the TV families in question. Which ones were your favorites? Let us know in the comments.
