Particularly during her time in prison separated from Clyde after a failed robbery in 1932 Bonnie wrote poems. However, Bonnie wrote two of her most famous poems, “Suicide Sal” and “The Story of Bonnie and Clyde” while she was on the run with Clyde.
1) Bonnie kept her wedding ring on until her death
Bonnie married her high school sweetheart, Ray Thorton, at only 15. Despite her relationship with Clyde being a love-at-first-sight romance, she kept Thorton’s ring on until she and Clyde were gunned down on May 23rd, 1934, in Louisiana. Although, among the belongings recovered from the 1933 shootout was a promise ring Clyde had made while in Eastham prison: a silver plated ring with a three headed snake design.
