10 Historic Events That Were All Over The News In The ’70s!

If you’re like us, you may have forgotten about some of these events!

9. America Turns 200

Throughout the mid-70s, the country held celebrations for its Bicentennial, culminating on July 4th, 1976 (the 200 year anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence). Planning for the celebration began in 1966, and included events such as extravagant firework shows, sixteen tall-masted ships in New York Harbor, and a commemorative coin.

10. The Seed Is Planted

In 1976, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded The Apple Computer Company. Just a year later The Apple II was introduced, becoming one of the first successful mass-produced family computers to hit the market. While Apple had it’s ups and downs, there’s no denying the powerhouse in technology it has become.
