The Great London Fire was a devastating event that swept through the central part of the city and burned for 5 days, from September 2nd to September 6th, 1666. Over a hundred years prior to the great fire, the famous French apothecary, Nostradamus, predicted the fire. Nostradamus published several collections of prophecies in his lifetime. While a lot of his predictions are vague in their language, others are startlingly clear and accurate. He predicted such major events as the death of Henry II to Hitler’s reign. The passage concerning the Great London Fire says, The blood of the just will be lacking in London, Burnt up in the fire ’66.
