Never Skip Afternoon Tea

While afternoon tea has been a tradition for hundreds of years, the social aspect of food and drinks with friends came about in the 1830s. This was thanks to Anne, Duchess of Bedford. She requested light sandwiches be brought to her in the late afternoon along with her tea because she had a “sinking feeling” due to the long gap between meals. From there, she began inviting others, and a tradition was born!

Write Thank You Notes

The art of note-writing is being replaced by texting and Facebook messages. However, we think this is one thing that definitely needs to come back! Not only are handwritten notes more personal, but you can tell someone really meant it when they take the time to write something down in a card and mail it to you. This practice also helps the person writing to actually slow down and think of the words they want to say, instead of a quick “Thank you” text.
