4 Extremely Uncomfortable Ways People Used to Rest

They did the best they could with what they had!

1) Slant Boards

In the early days of big film productions, actors and actresses were sometimes sewn into their costumes which meant that during breaks they could not change clothing. At the same time they also could not sit down or else risk wrinkling or splitting their costumes. The solution was to have them rest standing up against a slanted board, often with arm rests. Slant (or leaning) boards are not often used these days, but are occasionally still employed when extremely complicated costumes are used.
