Yes, you read that right. This unique soup has been cooking non-stop for forty-five years! It has won many awards for best broth throughout Thailand, despite the strange yet fascinating method of cooking.

The restaurant, Wattana Panich, is a third-generation family-owned business. Currently run by Nattapong Kaweenuntawong, the restaurant has been a staple in the community for decades. Right now, Nattapong’s mother tends to the soup in the morning, adding more ingredients and stirring as the day goes on. Nattapong takes over in the afternoon, while his wife manages the restaurant itself.

The main ingredients added to the soup throughout the day include stewed beef, raw sliced beef, meatballs, tripes, and several other internal organs. Clearly, these guys know what their doing!

You may have noticed the brownish ring surrounding the large pot of soup. This is forty-five years of spillage. Crazy, right? You could say it’s sort of a tradition. Would you try this soup if you made it over to Thailand? Watch the video below for more details!
