Women in the workplace was a very touchy subject for many years. Stereotypes about young, attractive women working in offices meant that they were seen as either intellectually slow or as gold-diggers just hoping to snag that executive.

Given all that, it’s not surprising that the bombshell/bimbo secretary became the number one stereotype about these women.
