From some pretty difficult tasks to some dangerous ones (archery and pommel horse, we’re looking at you!), gym class used to be a lot more rough and tumble for many of us. Not only that, but the girls would often learn some dances or charm school moves on how to walk more gracefully. It was just considered part of growing up, like shop class or home ec.
