Get In The Halloween Spirit With Bobby Pickett’s Classic “Monster Mash”

I believe it was Ben Franklin who stated: “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.” That may be true, but the next closest thing has got to be hearing Bobby Pickett’s “Monster Mash,” at least once each year during the Halloween season. Whether it’s at a school party, a costume party, or on TV, it never fails. But that doesn’t bother me. The song brings back great memories of Halloween as a kid, and it’s quite catchy too!

Now that the spooky months are upon us, we thought it was only appropriate to feature an original performance of everyone’s favorite Halloween song on one of our personal favorite shows. That’s right, in the following clip you’ll see Bobby Pickett perform “Monster Mash,” on American Bandstand, circa 1964. Check out Pickett’s accompanying creepy faces… talk about a true performer! Also, be sure to share any great memories you have of Halloween in the comments section below.
