17 Iconic Snacks That ’80s & ’90s Kids Can’t Help But Remember Fondly
They were mostly sugar.
11) Fruit Pizza
When recipes for this iconic “pizza” got popular in the 1980s, many a parent said “well, at least it’s got fruit on it.” Yes, it did, the best recipes calling for mainly canned fruit atop cream cheese “sauce” on a cookie base. Healthy eating at its finest! Still, this unique (and beautiful) dessert was quite the novelty.
10) Butterfinger BBs
Just like a Butterfinger bar, but shaped like a malted milk ball, these were the cat’s pajamas for a little while.
9) Jello Pudding Pops
The famous ad campaign was all over the TV and in magazines and the unique taste was really good. They certainly weren’t just like other chocolate popsicles. For those who miss the taste, the only way to enjoy them now is to make them at home.
8) EZ Squirt Colored Ketchup
Whoever thought that kids needed to eat even more ketchup? These wild colors of ketchup were not really worth the extra money and so most moms just got regular old ketchup. But, as a rare treat, it was fun to dip fries in purple or green goo.
7) Keebler Tato Skins
In later years the TGIFridays brand would dominate the market, but for a time in the ’80s and ’90s the Keebler brand were the only kind of Tato Skins available. Salty, crispy, thicker than other chips, and with the flavors of a baked potato, these chips were really something!
