The flavors and scents bring back so many memories: going to the corner store after school, the teacher’s prizes for doing well, and the pennies saved up to go to the candy store. These are some of our favorite candies from the 1960s.

2) Zagnut

These crunchy bars, made with coconut and peanut brittle, were always a favorite. The name is strange and the verdict is still out on how exactly this candy got its name. Though they contain no chocolate, Zagnuts do contain a small amount of cocoa. Who would have thought?

1) Fruit Stripe Gum

The catchy song and the animated zebra character were not the only things to love about this gum. The great flavor (which was always destined to fade away quickly despite claims of longevity), the smell, and the fake tattoos were all a part of the experience.
