These mysteries continue to confuse year after year.
2) Overtoun Dog Suicides
It may sound like someone is playing a cruel joke, but dog owners by the dozens have witnessed their beloved family pets jump to their deaths at the Overtoun Bridge in Scotland not too far from Glasgow. The Overtoun Estate was ceded to Scotland in 1938 by then-owner Dr. Douglas White. Since then it has served as a convalescent home for soldiers during World War II, later a hospital, and then a Christian center. But the mystery comes to the bridge.
For some reason, at least 50 dogs are said to have jumped over the edge of the bridge, many to their deaths. The reasons for this remain unknown and have often been attributed to supernatural occurrences on or near the bridge. Others think that the height of the bridge is deceptively masked to dogs who might be eagerly tracking the scent of local mink (which roam freely).
