We decided to take a look at some of the most popular movie lines of all time that are commonly misquoted.

8. Casablanca (1942)

How Most People Remember It: “Play it again, Sam.”

The Actual Line: “You played it for her, you can play it for me. If she can stand it, I can. Play it!”

9. Dirty Harry (1971)

How Most People Remember It: “Do you feel lucky, punk?”

The Actual Line: “You’ve got to ask yourself one question: ‘Do I feel lucky?’ Well, do ya punk?”

10.Jaws (1975)

How Most People Remember It: “We’re gonna need a bigger boat!”

The Actual Line: “You’re gonna need a bigger boat!”

11. The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

12. Tarzan the Ape Man (1932)

How Most People Remember It: “Me Tarzan, you Jane!”

The Actual Line: This is actually a sequence in which Jane gestures to herself, saying her name, with Tarzan repeating. She then points to Tarzan and says, “you?” To which, Tarzan proudly pounds his chest and says “Tarzan!” The two then go back and forth repeating there names.

13. All About Eve (1950)

How Most People Remember It: “Fasten your seat belts, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.”

The Actual Line: “Fasten your seat belts, it’s going to be a bumpy night.”
