9) Good Old-fashioned Walking

If the thought of doing high intensity workouts is intimidating then don’t forget that walking is still wonderful exercise. Walking gets the joints lubricated, helps maintain muscle, and is good for your heart, among many other benefits. Even short walks can be beneficial, though 30 minutes or more per day is ideal. There is even some evidence that walking every day can help ease the pain of arthritis!

10) Water Workouts

You can take a range of water fitness classes at the local YMCA or even at your gym. But, one of the simplest is to just simply walk briskly through the water. The resistance of the water will help build muscles and give you a cardio workout while at the same time decreasing the impact to your joints.
