“My Favorite Things” Is One of My Favorite Things at Christmas Time

It’s not exactly a Christmas carol, but it still reminds us of Christmas!

For many of us The Sound of Music is a holiday tradition. Even though there are no Christmas scenes, the family-friendly film brings up fond memories of the holidays for us. As one of the films that regularly is shown on TV during December, the film has entered into a kind of a Christmas-by-association following. And, what better song than “My Favorite Things” to ring in the holidays? It is the only one in the film which mentions anything about winter: the sleigh bells, snowflakes, and warm woolen mittens.

The incomparable Julie Andrews stole our hearts back then, and she continues to do so today. The sight of her with the kids all snuggled in the bed singing together is enough to make you run and get the hot cocoa going on the stovetop. One of our favorites from this movie, this song will warm your heart all over again. Watch it below.
