Some songs just make you feel good and bring back memories of dancing with your friends. “Louie Louie” was one of the biggest hits of the ’60s and reached #2 on the charts in 1963 and 1964. But, did you know that this classic song was once the subject of a lengthy FBI investigation? The story goes that the lyrics could have been obscene, but they were mumbled so badly by The Kingsmen vocalist, Jack Ely, that no one could make a determination as to what was really being sung and the FBI started receiving complaints! The FBI investigation lasted for 2 years, during which time the song was played countless times and a various speeds in the FBI labs with no conclusive determination as to the nature of the lyrics.
