1980s

The ’80s were a decade of emerging convenience foods for many families. Classics that were easy to make came to take center stage for suppertime. Sloppy joes and tater tots were two dishes that came into regular rotation and kept the kids happy with flavors they enjoyed.

At the same time, more sophisticated dishes were beginning to show up on the table at home. Mushrooms stuffed with peppers or tapenade or pesto offered an interesting twist. Salads were becoming more common and caesar salad was a popular side at dinner.
