83-Yr-Old Flower Girl Steals Spotlight At Granddaughter’s Wedding In Sweet Photos.
All eyes were on the flower girl as she reached the end of the aisle and tossed petals into the air, radiating pure happiness.
Brenna Klemen probably didn’t expect to be outshined at her own wedding. But, looking back, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Before she married the love of her life Brock Kendall, back in April, Brenna knew she wanted her grandma to play an important role in the ceremony. Inspiration struck when the ICU nurse chatted with a patient about her upcoming wedding.
“I was taking care of a very sick elderly woman who told me the story how she was a flower girl for her grandchild,” the bride explained. She fell in love with the idea and decided to do the same for her own big day. Her grandmother, who wishes to remain unnamed, was all for it, though nerves struck before she began walking down the aisle.
“[Grandma] was very emotional,” Brenna said. “She was almost in tears because she wanted to make sure she did OK on my special day.”
But as touching photos captured by photographer Thomas Felts revealed, she did more than okay — she completely stole the spotlight! All eyes were on the flower girl as she reached the end of the aisle and tossed petals into the air, radiating pure happiness.
“Every time she threw more petals in the air, our family cheered louder,” Brenna said, adding all the wedding guests had grins plastered to their faces. That day turned into more than a celebration of marriage; it became a celebration of joy.
While Brenna was bursting with pride at her grandma’s ability to light up the room with her infectious spirit, nobody was prouder than Brenna’s grandpa, who told the photographer, “That’s my flower girl.”
The photos went viral shortly after Brenna’s cousin shared them on Facebook. People couldn’t get enough of the sweet old lady with the power to make anyone smile. Brenna couldn’t be happier to share her grandma with the world.
“I have learned from my grandmother that life is too short to dwell on the negatives. As she would say: ‘Oh hell, oh well’ and ‘Happiness is a choice,’” Brenna said. “She is my inspiration, and I hope that she can inspire you too — one flower petal at a time.”
