At First, This Was Just Like Any Other Vintage Wedding Dress. Then They Found A Note…

St. Gemma’s Hospice Charity Shop receives a lot of donations every day, so when they were given this vintage wedding dress to sell on eBay, no one thought anything of it. Sure, it was a beautiful dress from the 1950s, adorned in lace, but it was similar to all the other wedding dresses this charity receives; that is, until they found a note attached to the dress.

From: Twitter / St. Gemma’s Hospice

It’s somewhat tough to read, but the note says: “I wish any lady who takes this dress to have a life with her loved one 56 years like I did,” the notes reads. “Happy years. I was a Lucky man to marry a lady like mine.” The employees at the charity were so touched by this heartfelt message, that they decided to track down the person who donated the dress.

After posting the dress and the message to their Facebook page, St. Gemma’s Hospice was able to find the donor. He was absolutely thrilled that his message touched so many people, and while he wished to remain anonymous, he’s glad that the proceeds from this dress (which is for sale on eBay) will benefit a hospice that cares for cancer patients. What a feel good story!
