From Cap Guns To Fresh Laundry, These Smells Bring Back A Wave Of Memories!

What is a summer made of? The smells of summer always take us back!

4) Tree Sap

How many trees do you think you climbed in a summer? It’s hard one to measure because we climbed so many, but this is one smell that just brings a flood of memories immediately. That sticky feeling, the thrill of being up high and of jumping down like a champion.

3) Hot Dogs

Whether it was on the grill or over a fire, the smell of cooking hot dogs is pure summertime. Anytime it was warm enough we roasted weenies over a fire. There’s just something about that crisped outer layer. Delicious!

2) The Ocean

That salty, fresh, clean smell is mysteriously complicated: it’s no wonder why this one has been replicated by every perfume and laundry soap company. This scent brings up the feeling of sand between your toes and finding marine life floating around you and buried in the sand. If you were lucky enough to go the ocean as a kid, then this smell is forever with you. Sometimes, I swear even a lake can smell a little like the ocean, though!

1) Waffle Cones

The sweet smell of these delectable cones being made is something we hold dear. The anticipation of getting an ice cream cone was almost too much to bear on those special occasions we went to the fair or the ice cream shop. Such great memories of the melted ice cream leaking through the bottom. This smell is still completely mouth-watering!

There was nothing like being a kid in summer back then. The endless hours outdoors shaped who we became and the smells that we remember are still as wonderful today as they were all those years ago!
