The ‘Saved By The Bell’ Reboot Is Officially Happening

If you remember the sitcom from the 90s, Saved by the Bell, you will be happy to know that the NBC streaming service, Peacock, is about to give it a reboot.

If you remember the sitcom from the 90s, Saved by the Bell, you will be happy to know that the NBC streaming service, Peacock, is about to give it a reboot.

The network made the announcement of their new streaming service along with the new show that will premiere on it.

Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano) and Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater) are already on board for the reboot. It will be about Zach Morris, who plays the governor of California after he decided to close ‘too many low-income high schools, proposes to send affected students to the highest performing schools in the state, including Bayside High.’

Gosselaar is busy on the ABC show, Mixed-ish but has not completely said no to being a part of the reboot. We will have to wait and see if other cast members will be joining.

The showrunner and executive producer will be Tracey Wigfield, who worked on Great News and 30 Rock. She will work along with Lopez at Berkeley, Franco Bario (Great News) and Peter Engle from the original series.

The original show ran from 1989-1993 on NBC. 2019 is the 30th anniversary of the premiere of the show, so we could see the connection between the anniversary and the reboot. Streaming networks have posted many reboots over the past few years, including some upcoming reboots, such as Seinfeld on Netflix.

In addition, HBO Max is running a spinoff of Gossip Girl and Peacock is getting ready for reboots of Punky Brewster and Battlestar Galactica.

Although the news is good about the Saved by the Bell reboot, we will have to wait to see it. The scheduled debut for the show is April 2020.
