Judy Garland has one of those stories that is magical and heartbreaking at the same time. She brought joy to millions and continues to do so through the films and music that she is so fondly remembered for. A new film simply titled Judychronicles her life and stars RenĂ©e Zellweger as Judy Garland. What’s more the first official trailer was recently released and it looks promising.

Unlike many biopics which use dubbed vocals, the producers wanted Zellweger’s voice in the film and that’s what you hear in the trailer: her touching and breathy version of “Over the Rainbow.” Zellweger said that during the filming she gained further appreciation for the Hollywood legend and that she has a new “empathy and respect” for Garland.

While Judy will focus mainly on Garland’s time in London during the 1960s, the trailer promises to give us glimpses into her early career. The film comes out September 27th and you can watch the emotional trailer below.
