When you think about flying from one place to another, what is it that comes to mind? If you are like most people, you think about schlepping through an airport, waiting in long lines, and being inconvenienced every step of the way.

Although that may be an accurate picture of flying these days, it wasn’t always the case. In fact, back in the 1950s, taking a flight was similar to taking a cruise.

When you boarded a plane you could expect to be cared for in a very luxurious way.

Everything was prepared especially for you, regardless of whether it was your meal or if it was the live music that would be entertaining you along the way.

If you didn’t have the opportunity to experience this firsthand or even if you did, you will appreciate an old video from Pan Am that shows you just how things were.

You may not see these things on an air flight any longer, but it’s wonderful to look back and see what was available at one time.

More than likely, we will never return to the Golden Age of flight again. We can still look at it with a smile, however, knowing that our parents and our parent’s parents were able to enjoy something special.
