It’s hard to imagine that more than 50 years ago, David Ruffin, Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, Otis Williams, and Eddie Kendricks came together to form what would become one of Motown’s most legendary groups. Of course we’re talking about The Temptations! While the group had many hits during the course of their career, the one that take the cake has got to be “My Girl.” Written by lyrical geniuses Smokey Robinson and Ronald White, “My Girl,” was first performed in 1965 and has become a timeless classic ever since.

The story goes that The Temptations had heard Robinson and White — both of whom were members of The Miracles at the time — rehearsing the lyrics one night, and begged the two to let them record it. The rest, as they say, is history! The following performance by The Temptations perfectly encapsulates just how talented they were; the effortless dance moves that accompany their beautiful harmony just put a smile on your face.
