When you think of American Bandstand, what comes to mind? If you’re like me, you remember the charm of Dick Clark, the zany dances, and the wonderful musical acts! Performances like this 1959 rendition of “I Only Have Eyes for You,” by The Flamingos are why American Bandstand will always have a place in my heart. Back before the internet and the age of “on demand” entertainment, we relished the opportunities to see our favorite songs performed live by our favorite musicians! Originally written for the 1934 film Dames, The Flamingos’ version of this song eventually was named #157 on Rolling Stone magazine’s “500 Greatest Songs Of All Time” list.
