We’ve come a long way since the days of mandatory dresses and skirts for women. Back then women wearing pants was considered quite controversial! 50-100 years ago many women only wore pants for specific activities, like gardening, cycling, skiing, or golf (if then). The trend got off to a rocky start in the early 20th century, but by 1934 the first pair of Levi’s specifically made for women was released, sparking a love for pants that many women shared.
Even just a few decades ago, some women were expected to wear skirts for work, school, and formal events and to only wear pants for the most casual of of purposes. Since then most girls can now wear pants to school with no problem and most offices have dress codes which permit a variety of looks, including professional pants suits.
