As the executer of his aunt’s will and estate, Karl Kissner was left with the responsibility of cleaning out her house when she passed away. While sorting through her belongings, Karl came across a box covered in soot and hidden beneath a dollhouse that contained quite the treasure: a stash of baseball cards that experts referred to as “cardboard gold.” The collection was in mint condition, and contained some of the most notable baseball cards in existence, such as those of Cy Young, Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner. And since this story is a few years old, we now know what this collection fetched at an auction; 37 of the most valuable cards went for $566,132 in an online auction! Get a closer look at this collection in the following clip.
