This menu was the last lunch served on the Titanic before the infamous iceburg caused the ship to sink. First class passenger, Abraham Lincoln Salomon, had the menu in his coat pocket as he boarded a raft to safety. The menu sold on an online auction for $88,000.

Apollo 15 Watch

This watch may not be much to look at with its worn velcro strap, but it was worn on the Moon in 1971 by Colonel David Scott as Commander of Apollo 15. The watch can be seen in the famous photo of astronaut David Scott saluting the American flag. How much would you pay for that little slice of history? This watch sold for $1.6 million in a recent auction.

Portrait of Chinese Emperor Qianlong

This Imperial portrait of Qianlong sold for a whopping $17.6 million in an auction held in Hong Kong. The painting is signed by the emperor himself. It was expected to go for around $7.7 million. The portrait was part of a series sold at the auction. The seller walked away with $540 million for the entire series. Clearly, we’re in the wrong business.

Einstein ‘God Letter’

This 64 year old letter, penned by Einstein himself, was sold at an auction for $2.9 million. The letter is referred to as the “God Letter” because of the way Einstein talks about formal religion. Einstein used the letter to reject the idea of a God who plays an active part in everyday life.

Open Crypt Above Marilyn Monroe

The crypt above Marilyn Monroe has had a few owners over the years. Originally it belonged to baseball star and Monroe’s ex-husband Joe DiMaggio, but he sold it after the divorce in 1954. Richard Poncher purchased the crypt. He requested that he be placed face down in th crypt so that he could be looking down at Marilyn Monroe. Richard’s wife, Elsie, recently put the crypt up for bid on eBay. It sold for $4.6 million. Of course, she moved her husbands remains before selling the spot.
