And then of course there are the many homemade pin-ups: photographs taken of sweethearts, neighborhood girls, or girls they met on leave. As such, not all of the pin-ups the GIs clung to were naughty or racy. Many pin-ups were entirely above board.

Whether they knew the women on their walls personally or not, the images represented the type of girl they sincerely hoped to settle down withonce the war was over.
