Bette Davis’ famous line in All About Eve, this often-misquoted line was actually “…bumpy night,” but that doesn’t make much sense. This phrase has been capitalized on in the media many times, from surf movies to The Simpsonsand the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but we know where it really got its start. The beloved program, The Howdy Doody Show, featured a character named Chief Thunderthud who used the made-up phrase “kawabunga” to mean something that was bad.
