Prince Harry spilled the beans on his proposal to American actress Meghan Markle today, in the royal couple’s first public interview since news of their engagement leaked yesterday.

The couple say the proposal occurred on a “cozy night” when they were “just roasting a chicken.”

Today’s release is the first interview granted by the couple since announcing their royal engagement.

Over the ensuing 20 minutes, the couple discuss their long-distance romance, their differing backgrounds, and Markle’s experience meeting the Queen and her corgis for the first time.
